Recommended Mods Part Nineteen - FO3Edit

FO3Edit by ElminsterAU
Another utility to recommend (yeah, the definition of "mod" is broad for this series). FO3Edit, as with Fallout Mod Manager by Timeslip, is based on an Oblivion utility (TES4Edit). FO3Edit is a bit hard to summarize. It is a rather advanced utility for graphically viewing and editing .ESPs/ESMs, detecting conflicts, cleaning mods, etc.

The most important use for the average mod user is the ability to see exactly what mods are doing, clean them if necessary, examine any conflicts with other mods, and maybe even eliminate those conflicts. You could also use FO3Edit to make quick little tweaks to mods (changing item or NPC stats, etc.), instead of opening up the G.E.C.K.

As mods get more and more complex, and become more and more plentiful, serious mod users will definitely want to use FO3Edit to examine the mods they are using. If more mod users knew how to use FO3Edit effectively, we would see less mod problems and questions.
